Still Working on Woody...

Believe it or not, I'm still tinkering with Woody to get him running right. After replacing the rear gas tank, I found that the rear fuel pump evidently has quite a bit more pressure than the front, because when I ran the truck off the rear tank for the first time, we smelled gas (not good!) and then later determined that fuel was leaking from the fuel rail onto the manifold (not good either!). So I finally found a used manifold from a junkyard in Ladysmith, WI, (Ford discontinued
the part, which didn't make things easy...) and hopefully we'll have this truck running smoothly and powerfully soon.
I also found a broken leaf spring, and the oil pan is pretty rusty, but we'll deal with that next month. Oh, it also looks like the radius arm bushings will need to be replaced, but at least the ball joints and tie rod ends look OK. Overall, I expected quite a bit of this with an older truck - I just didn't expect to have to deal with it all right away :-)
The newly powder coated rims, new trim rings and hub caps look nice, and with a new coat of wax the truck actually gets some looks. We'll have it running good to match the looks soon!
Only a week until the wedding now... After that, hopefully things will settle down and we can actually get back to Cornelia ;-)
